    Abstract  Harm and control problems of electric power harmonic in textile mill were discussed.Causes and harm of electric power harmonic in textile mill were introduced.Main characteristics and applicability of various harmonic control methods were analyzed.It was concluded that electric power harmonic in textile mill were mainly generated by a large number of nonlinear loads by using frequency converters.Engineering example running test results showed that through adoppting dynamic control of harmonic,effective current of transformer busbar side can be reduced more than 5% and 5th harmonic current can be reduced more than 50%.Quality of entire power grid can be improved,power factor can be improved,accidents can be reduced,security risks of power system in textile mill can be reduced.Improving energy utilization rate of enterprise more than 5% was realized.It is considered that dynamic control method is better for controlling electric power harmonic.
